Please watch out for misleading offers
We have become aware that exhibitors are receiving requests to check their company data for Expo Guide, Fair Guide, Construct Data, International Fairs Directory or Inexorg Verlag and to complete or correct them in an attached order form. According to the accompanying letter, this is necessary to update existing data in the exhibitor directory so that visitors can contact your company easily.
By complying with a request from Expo Guide, Fair Guide, Construct Data, International Fairs Directory or Inexorg Verlag you will be agreeing a three-year contract with them to publish your company data. This contract will result in costs of around €1,000 a year. We should like to state explicitly that we have no contractual relationship with Expo Guide, Fair Guide or Construct Data Verlag. We have neither authorised nor in any other way arranged for them to contact our exhibitors to update information for an exhibitor directory. Should you need to update your information, please get in touch with us direct.
If you have already signed a contract with Expo Guide, Fair Guide, Construct Data, International Fairs Directory or Inexorg Verlag, we urge you to contest it immediately on the grounds of wilful deceit. In addition, you should cancel the contract to rule out any future purchase obligation. In this connection we draw your attention to the verdict of Cologne regional court of 04.07.2007 (LG Köln, Az. 9 S 44/07).
According to the verdict, the acceptance of an invitation to be listed in an internet directory can be contestable on the grounds of wilful deceit, even though the monthly/annual costs are quoted, should the offer otherwise lead to deceit on the subject as a result of its presentation and formulation. Finally you should consult a lawyer immediately to check any liability for payment. No offers from other publishing houses or exhibition publications are made in connection with our company’s events.
